Can Mobile Divorce Apps Really Make the Challenges of Divorce Easier and Less Expensive?
Posted on June 13, 2012 by Dishon & Block
Dishon & Block’s California Spousal and Child Support Calculator is just such an app. It’s free and easily downloadable for iPhone and iPad users.
Don’t think divorce apps can help you and your family before, during and after divorce? See how LA Times technology writer Michelle Maltais covers our Dishon & Block app here in a June 8 story titled: I don’t anymore: Divorce apps to help with the details of divorce. “In California, you can get a sense of what a divorce will cost you in monthly support with a free iPhone calculator from Dishon & Block that’s based on the formulas used by the California Family Code and other rules of the court,” writes Maltais.
But what does this all mean for people considering divorce, those who are divorce and divorce parents who are now co-parenting as a lifestyle?
“While hiring a qualified divorce lawyer is still necessary in most cases, I believe our new app is a much-needed tool for divorced people and those thinking about divorce,” says Dishon. “It can not only give you peace of mind, but also bargaining power and at-your-fingertips financial information for making important life decisions.”
The Dishon & Block California Child & Spousal Support Guideline Calculator Version 1.1 is available in English for the iPhone, iPod and iPad and requires an iOS 4.0 or later Apple operating system.*
Run Your Own Spousal and Child Support Calculations
Dishon & Block’s “mobile divorce calculator app” allows those who are separated, divorced or just considering divorce to easily run their own financial calculations without turning to an attorney for help.
“These calculations were only available to attorneys until now,” says managing partner Aaron Dishon, who was the impetus behind this newfangled divorce calculation gadgetry. The divorce app, so says Dishon, was programmed and validated by the same CPA firm used to validate one of the official state-approved child and spousal support PC-based software calculators.
Dishon says he created the divorce app so iPhone and iPad users can use it as a tool to avoid paying hundreds of dollars to an attorney for the same calculations. “The app gives users a very close estimate for determining child and spousal support,” says Dishon.
What Can You Do with This Mobile Divorce App Calculator
So why would you consider donwloading theCaliforniadivorce app? Dishon says it can help you quickly answer financial conundrums such as:
• What if I lose my job or my income goes down?
• What if my ex gets a higher-paying job or loses a job?
• What if I become the primary custodial parent and how does that affect my child support payments?
In addition, Dishon & Block’s Child & Spousal Support App can:
• Calculate child support, spousal support or child and spousal support calculations.
• Estimate spousal support with a built-in tax table.
• Estimate spousal or child support payments you may owe or may be owed to you.
• Determine approximate monthly and annual support totals.
• View the calculation results on an easy-to-read screen.
