Douglas A. Hatherley came to Dishon & Block as an Associate Attorney in 2011. His career and practice have been devoted exclusively to the issues of family law litigation.
Mr. Hatherley works closely and empathetically with his clients, yet at the same time focuses his efforts on the crucial aspects of each case.

A dedicated and experienced attorney, he has developed powerful expertise in drafting persuasive family law pleadings and interpreting complex legal concepts. These skills have enabled Mr. Hatherley to develop a reputation not only as a skilled litigator capable of achieving his clients’ objectives in court, but also as an attorney who understands how to maximize his clients’ benefits through settlement.
Mr. Hatherley works closely and empathetically with his clients, yet at the same time focuses his efforts on the crucial aspects of each case. While working with clients on dealing with their emotional needs during their cases, he also maintains a “determined approach” to keeping the case moving forward toward successful resolution.
Prior to joining Dishon & Block, Mr. Hatherley practiced family law in Los Angeles with the Law Offices of Korol and Velen, and prior to that with the Law & Mediation Offices of Pauline Rosen in Redondo Beach. During law school, Mr. Hatherley served as a judicial extern in the Family Law Division of the Los Angeles Superior Court for the Honorable Harvey A. Silberman.
Education
Mr. Hatherley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California Berkeley. He then attended Loyola Law School where he received his Juris Doctor.
While at Loyola, Mr. Hatherley was Senior Production Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review.
