Carrie S. Block - Partner

carrieblockbig.jpgCarrie S. Block joined Dishon & Block as an associate in 1998. She became partner in the firm in 2005. Ms. Block’s expertise is in family law and estate planning.

Ms. Block has extensive experience in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, paternity, guardianship, adoption and premarital rights. Many of her cases involve complicated property divisions or contested custody disputes. She also represents clients in agreed-upon divorces, post-divorce modifications, enforcement of existing orders, paternity cases and premarital agreements. She works closely with the firm’s clients to educate them and keep them abreast of changes in the law.

Ms. Block’s experience in the area of estate planning includes drafting of trusts and wills. She understands the laws governing California estates and its residents. Her philosophy is that each client has his or her own unique needs and concerns. Ms. Block is dedicated to providing customized estate planning and trust management in areas including wills, revocable trust, irrevocable trust, charitable trusts and life insurance trusts.

Prior to joining Dishon & Block, Ms. Block was an Associate Attorney at Simon, McKinsey, Miller, Zommick, Sandor & Dundas, where she started as a law clerk.

Ms. Block is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association.

Ms. Block received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1990. She earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1993, and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.

Ms. Block was born in Queens, New York. She and her family reside in Irvine, California.
